Neutered male guinea pig, 2,5 years old.
Urine has suddenly become very dark brown, though not visually perceived as hematuria when viewed on white pee pads. No signs of pain when urinating. No hypercalciuria. Clinically fine. No diet change or vegetables given that might dye his urine.
Was put on a high dosis of meloxicam SID due to a fracture of a phalanx on January 3rd and will continue with that for 3 more weeks. Urine color change was observed by owner some time before the fracture.
No urine sample collected or analyzed yet. Any ideas?
