Budget frog I got April 5th 2023 and I noticed a swollen right forearm May 1st. I put it in a smaller tub and cleaned the water every day for two weeks and swelling went down (not completely) for over a month. I noticed the swelling again September 7th. It has gradually grown and the hand/fingers are slightly swollen but nothing before the elbow is swollen. She still uses the arm, has an appetite, and does not appear bothered.
I plan to take her to a vet once I get on break but for now I’m just trying to learn what could cause swelling like this outside of trauma. All I can think of is maybe a cyst?
I did include one picture of her normal arm over the light.
Husbandry:
-10 gallon aquarium filled so she can reach the top with her back legs on the ground but she does have a small land spot to come out of the water if she wanted
-complete water changes once a week and slow 10g filter continuously flowing
-75-85°F (using an underwater heater and a basking bulb during the day or a heat emitter during the night because water heater isn’t strong enough)
-eats 4-6x a week (mainly store bought red wigglers but also gets meal worms, and various types of roaches)
