That rabbit has several problems. When she was spayed, we’re the cervicii removed? There are opacities in the bladder or tissue annex to it. The bladder is distended. Has she eaten substrate? Obstruction in the distal small intestine, very dehydrated gut.
How are the liver values? (ALT, GGT, CHOL, TBIL, ALP, etc).
If liver values ok I’d add maropitant sc at 1,5 mg/kg q 24 h for two days. Metamizol Na (50 mg/kg IM q 12 h) instead of buprenorphine, (they tend to become more lethargic and anorexic with bup). Yes, hydrate and give b-vitamins in the drip. I’ve started to give SC boluses of RA with hyalase for faster absobtion, most rabbits do not like to have an IV dripp if they’re going to be mobile. I’d give one dose of Buscopan 20 mg/ml at 0,15 ml SC. Famotidine at 0,5 mg/kg SC or PO, meloxicam at 1,5 mg/kg q 12, then 24 h.
Repeat rads 4 hours after buscopan and hydration. Then post the new rads and we can start with gastric motility enhancers when the gas has passed through and the gut is again filled. |
