Hi guys, what do you think about the uterus of this 3 year old Guinea pig? I’m more used to scanning canine uteri, in which case I would characterize this one as ‘cystic endometrial hyperplasia with no clear sign of pyometra but not ruled out’. But what do you guys think? There are other issues like urolithiasis and hematuria/pyuria, but the original post was so long that I am cutting it down to just the uterus as to hopefully get much needed feedback on that specifically
If it’s big, take it out. When that’s said, GPs develop very often neoplasia in the uterine horns.
The new technique to spay is flank ovariectomy and ventral hysterectomy.
