Hello! I’m sorry for the bad quality, but I was wondering if anyone can see any abnormalities regarding the teeth?

It’s a male rabbit, castrated. 4,5 years old. No previous history of known disease.

Been loosing weight since before Christmas. Was 2,7 kg and now 2,25 kg.

A colleague did an abdominal radiograph before Christmas without any findings (I haven’t seen those yet).

The rabbit lives outside with another rabbit. The owner can’t have them inside because of allergies so it’s a bit hard for her to keep track regarding eating and feces, but she has observed him eating. They eat mostly hay and they eat a smaller amount of pellets.
The other rabbit is clinically healthy.

The owner said that she feels his feces are larger than it was before. So he got some zoolac, but she says it stays the same

I found a small coin-sized red spot on the ears, bilateral. It was hidden beneath the fur, but I shaved it. He has a wound on his back but the owner says it was a bite from the female it was a thick crust, but after soaking it in water I removed it and it was healed underneath.

He is a bit greasy on the top of his head.

No signs of itching.

His fur otherwise from these parts I have describes is shiny and soft (not matted, greasy etc).

He has very greasy, messy (can’t find the right Words in English ) fur medial on thighs and around tail. It has been like this before Christmas. The owner tried to wash it but it’s too messy/tangled (flokete/tovete) so I had to remove it. Some parts of the skin was quite sore from the dirt and tangles.

I tried to take a blood sample but failed but he was (lightly) sedated for the radiographs so that could have affected the blood pressure(?). So I suggested we try another day, but awake as he is easy to handle.

Any suggestions of further diagnostic approaches? This is really not my field, but I’m glad the owner shows some interest in searching for the problem

The rads of the Teeth seem normal. If the female is not castrated, there will be sexual and territorial behavior that will end in conflict, even if owner doesn’t see this. Do you have a picture of the rabbit? Fur color, and so on.
Full body radiography is indicated here, also blood. Urine scalding or skin changes in rabbits can have many etiologies. Also do a fecal flotation for coccidia and other parasites, and if you’re used to see healthy bunny poop, a wet smear to asses the “normal” flora.
Causes of skin problems (especially greasy fur) are from thymoma (!!) or unkempt fur, to uroliths. Remember to include the WHOLE rabbit in the full body rads, since urethral stones sit very caudal in the hip girdle, even further back…
The husbandry seems a bit lax, how is their enclosure, etc?
I hope this helps.
