Rooster, 2,5yo, with a suspected bumblefoot. Came in because the foot was turning slightly green. Digit 3 is stiff and has been like this for a long time. No limping. Took xrays to look for osteolytic lesions. The other foot looks fine.
I'm thinking the green skin is caused by bruising, but the rooster does not appear to be bothered. Sadly i don't have a photo of the actual lesion under the foot, but it is a sircular lesion with brown thickened skin and a sort of scab. The plantar surface is mildly swollen compared to the healthy foot. The environment for the rooster is pretty good and the owner is dedicated. It might be a little heavy. Could the stiffened digit be the cause of the bumblefoot by affecting the weightbearing on that foot? Any tips for treatment for this one?
