It was T. Mentagrophytes. Used Lamisil SID for 20days + lamisil spray on equipment and in dustbath for 4 months.
Good results Just in case anyone else gets a case and needs help

Can I use Lamisil (terbinafin) cream SID for 20 days + Pevaryl (econazol) 1ts in dust bath every other day for 6-7 weeks. As therapy???

Getting kind of desperate since the products when googeling and reading through articles, books, etc doesn’t exist in Norway (or is in the wrong format eg cream in stead of powder)

Hi. Looking for some advice regarding a couple of chinchillas. I don’t have any experience with them at all.
The two chinchillas are born this year, but the owner doesn’t know when. They’re bought through a pet store 14 days ago. Don’t know about husbandry or diet, but it seemed like the owner knows more than me on that subject.
Came in today with alopesia around the nose, eyes, ears and toes. Seems otherwise healthy, but didn’t get a look on the teeth. No history of pruritus. Eating and drinking normally. The most affected is slightly more calm than the other. Both females (probably intact).
After reading on the subject I believe it’s ringworm. Owner is informed about this tentative diagnosis. Chinchillas were already in quarantine (owner has dog, cat and rabbit), and the owner knows it’s zoonotic and need to be careful with hygiene etc.

1. Where can I send in skin and hair sample? Ive looked at laboklin, but it’s mostly for guineapig and rabbit.
2. Any good protocols for treatment?

My suspicion is that the young animals were stressed during all the moving and new environment leading to a decreased immune system and therefore outbreak of ringworm. Would you agree?
